Khem Lakai is a founder of an international award winning GATE College. He is pure energy typically rises from facing challenges again and again. Khem has driven, developed, and refined himself since he was 14. He came from the mountains and went to work in the city. His attitude to learn and to improve the situation got him noticed and exposed to international standards.

He came back to Nepal and set up GATE College to provide others, like himself, help in the journey towards personal success. He knew that Nepali students needed vocational skills to compete with other trained international professionals.

He used his connections in the world to start international internships so that students could see what is possible. In so doing, he spreads Nepali spirit out into the world and brings higher standards to Nepal. He believes in the future of Nepal and seeks to create it not with just words and promises but with leadership and action.
